Aw man this speaks volumes in my situation for sure. I’ve been writing my first novel for the last few years and finally have part one of mine ready to go. My issue is the same; lack of funding. I created an Indiegogo campaign and luckily I had one big donator that pitched in. It’s still a long ways to go when I still need to hire voice over actors for the audiobook and also the art needed for the cover and chapter breaks. It’s the same when I tried to create my own films. At this point I can’t quit and hope down the road it’ll gain traction. I’m just gonna have to suck it up and fund it myself with the hopes it does well.

I get it. Raising funds has always been difficult, but it gets harder and harder every passing year. As soon as I realize that funding is necessary to continue a project, a part of me prepares for the very likely scenario that it's never going to happen. Perseverance becomes a kind of ignorance. You're pushing, knowing full well you're wasting your time. Every denial, rejection, whatever, cuts your will to continue. One day there’s momentum, the next you’ve taken two steps back. And don’t get me started on the goddamn catch-22s that plague most endeavors.

lol truth. I made the Indiegogo yeah to help with financial parts of the book but knew it was just gonna be a marketing tool. I’m gonna keep plugging along and get it done for sure. We are starving artists lol
